In the final seconds, unbridled joy erupted for Chelsea and caretaker boss Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández stabbed home a dramatic equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola howling at the heavens and gifted the temporary Chelsea manager a truly golden moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane was the Premier League's most pronounced managerial mismatch, making the recollection of Fernández's pivotal intervention one to cherish the 40-year-old throughout his career.

A Stark Contrast in Pedigree

On the City bench stood the most decorated manager of his time, a man with 40 trophies for elite clubs Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, taking charge of his 1,012th match. In the visitors' dugout, stood a one-time trainer at non-league sides Croydon and Whyteleafe, who had served in City's own academy and arrived to make his first-team debut after being seconded from his regular role overseeing Chelsea's youth teams.
